Investment Promotion Director
Andres Saldias Ph.D. serves as the Investment Promotion Director for the Partnership for Central America. Andres has 30 years of experience in Project management implemented on behalf of USAID, German Cooperation (GIZ), The Netherlands Development Organization (SNV), UKaid, Inter-American Development Bank, Swiss Cooperation, The World Bank Group, The Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CBI), Compete Caribbean, GATSBY Africa, and several NGOs. He has worked in more than 40 countries, engaging the private sector, Governments, Investment Promotion Agencies and financial institutions. Possesses extensive knowledge of Central America and its regional investment climate and capital mobilization schemes. As Nearshoring Investment Specialist in the Creating Economic Opportunities in Guatemala (CEO) and Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala Regional Investment and Trade (RITP) USAID initiatives, he has championed trade and investment, mobilizing financial services and engaging with local and multilateral funds. His efforts resulted in generating foreign direct investment of 30 prospect investors from 13 countries (Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East), and showcasing results to the Northern Triangle Governments, the Partnership of Central America (PCA) and US Government officials, while engaging with key private sector associations in the US and Central America.
Dr. Saldias regularly acts as an international keynote speaker at events on export culture development, and investments trends in the Western Hemisphere, trade facilitation, job creation and strategic growth for emerging economies. He is an accomplished social and economic growth senior expert with a Ph.D. in business administration and two master’s degrees in international trade.
