Manfredo Marroquin

Manfredo is the Co-founder and President of the Board of Directors of the civil society organization Acción Ciudadana, the Guatemalan chapter of Transparency International. For more than 20 years it has worked to promote a conscious citizenry committed to transparency in public management.

In 2003 he contributed to the creation of the Mirador Electoral network, whose objective is the observance and fulfillment of transparency in the processes for the appointment of government authorities in the country.

Manfredo has served as the coordinator of the largest electoral observation network in Guatemala (a network which is lead by Accion Ciudadana), Executive Secretary of the Latin American Electoral Observation Network “Lima Agreement,” Director of the Regional Alliance for Freedom of Expression and Access to Information, Secretary of the Central American Network for Transparency, among others. Manfredo has also served as consultant and editor in multiple publications Manfredo has a degree in Political and Social Sciences from the Rafael Landívar University.
