Rule of Law
In July 2023, under the leadership of PCA, 10 PCA member companies signed a commitment to the rule of law, following the standards set by the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct. This was a hopeful signal toward strengthening integrity and responsible business practices in the region.
In February of 2023, the Central American Forward (CAF) was launched. Part of the CAF is the Good Governance Declaration, which outlines the U.S. government’s and PCA’s joint commitments to combat corruption and protect labor rights in the region.
PCA’s efforts to create a “good governance club” continue.
The signatories expressed their commitment to economic investment that will support the Region's people, strengthen its public and private institutions, and provide a hopeful future for millions for decades to come. The signatories believe in a prosperous and secure Region whereby citizens of all nationalities are afforded broad and diverse opportunities.
